St. Hildegard says: “Whoever feels pain in the heart, stomach, or abdomen should warm a crystal in the sun, then pour water over the warmed stone. Afterward, let the stone be briefly placed in the water, then take it out and drink the water often, and they will feel relief in the heart, stomach, and abdomen. For when the warmth and watery power of the stone are activated by the sun’s heat and mixed with the sweetness of the water (since the stone also originated from water), they remove the pains from the heart, stomach, and abdomen, which arise from corrupted juices.”
And: “Whoever experiences fainting, but remains cheerful, and at the same time feels weak and sick, and whose strength sometimes suddenly fails them, so that they lie as if dead, should heat one or several crystals strongly in the sun, or as many as they can acquire, and then place them warm above the navel, beneath the stomach (that is, between the navel and the stomach) for half a day or for an hour. Let them do this frequently.”
